Accounting I
Prerequisite- Deneral Mathematics. Open to all sophomores, juniors and seniors. This is a two-semester course in the basic fundamentals of double-entry bookepping involved in keeping track of money values in business. Successful completion of the course should enable the student to identify and create finacial statements, journalize and post basic business transactions, and demonstrate an informed laayman's undersanding of data processing. Lectures and demonstrations of procedures will accompany student reading and problem practice in all phases covered. Income tax law and personal finance topics are also studied. The textbook used is Century 21 Accounting; a workbook and practice sets are used which are purchased by the student. Students will be evaluated on objective and problem testes in conjunction with daily classroom performance and attitude.
Accounting II
Prerequisite-Accounting I. This is a two-semester course which will review basic accounting theory and practice and will cover accounting systems for Corporations and Partnerships. The text will be Century 21 Accounting, Advanced; the workbook and two practice sets will be used for practical application of theory. Students will also use a computerized accounting program to reinforce the concepts they have learned. Income tax law and personal finance topics are also studied. The students will be evaluated on skills demonstrated on objective tests, daily work.
Business Law
Open to all Seniors and to Juniors(if room permits). This is a semester, introductory law course. The learner will become familiar with the importance of the law, specific laws, and explore the applications of law both in business situations and personal transactions. The text used is Law for Business and Personal Use ; besides textbook readings, speakers and current case studies are inclined in instruction..
